A man and his infant son were killed and three others were injured in a road accident in Torki area of Munshiganj Sadar upazila on Monday morning.

The deceased were identified as Dadan Sarkar, 32, resident of Char Abdullah area of Munshiganj Sadar upazila, and his son Honanin Sarkar.

Dadan Sarkar’s wife and two others were injured in the accident. Of the injured, Dadan’s wife was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in a critical condition.

Witnesses said that the accident took place as a trolley and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw collided in the area at about 11:15am, leaving five passengers of the auto-rickshaw injured.

They were taken to Munshiganj General Hospital where doctor declared Dadan and Honanin dead.

Munshiganj Sadar police acting officer-in-charge Aminul Islam said that they seized the vehicles.
